ARTICLE 6—Officers
6.1. Officers.
The officers of the Association shall be the President, the President-Elect,
two Vice-Presidents, the Secretary, the Treasurer and the Past President.
6.2. Qualification, Election and Term of Office.
Any member in good standing who meets the qualifications required by these
Bylaws is eligible to be an officer of the Association. Officers other than
the President-Elect shall be elected annually, for a period of one year, commencing
July 1 and ending June 30. The President-Elect shall be elected for a three-year
term and will hold three offices as follows: Year 1: President-Elect; Year
2: President; Year 3: Past President.
6.3. Subordinate Officer.
The Board may appoint such other officers or agents, as it may deem desirable.
These officers shall serve terms, have authority, and perform such duties
as may be prescribed by the Board.
6.4. Vacancies.
Any vacancy caused by the death, resignation, removal, disqualification,
or otherwise, of any officer may be filled by the Board for the unexpired
portion of the term. In the event of any such vacancy in any office other
than that of President, such vacancy may be filled temporarily by appointment
by the President until such time as the Board shall fill the vacancy.
6.5. Duties.
The officers perform those duties that are usual to their positions and
that are assigned to them by the Board, including those duties that are set
forth in the position descriptions for each officer as adopted by the Board.
In addition, the President shall preside at all meetings of the Board, and
of the membership.
